Makes 3 open-faced waffle sandwiches

Waffle Ingredients

1 tablespoons chia seeds

3 tablespoons water

1 cup waffle mix, your favorite that fits your diet. We used an unsweetened, whole grain variety.

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 cup Temple Turmeric Mineral Greens Elixir

Sandwich Ingredients

3/4 cup Mineral Greens Hummus >> get the recipe

3/4 avocado

Romaine Lettuce

Red onion

Heirloom tomatoes

Shaved carrots, we used purple heirloom carrots even though they look like a wiltier version of bacon!

Fresh cracked pepper

Combine chia and water to make a vegan, chia egg substitute.

Once the chia seeds are softened and the water is absorbed (about 5 minutes) combine with all other waffle ingredients and whisk to combine.

Heat waffle iron to a medium temperature then add 2/3 cup waffle mix and close until done, about 5 minutes.

Repeat waffle cooking process (#3) with all the waffle batter or cover and refrigerate the waffle batter for later use.

Once your waffles are cooled, layer 1/4 cup hummus, 1/4 avocado and all the produce you want

And there you have it: An open-faced, savory, turmeric waffle sandwich. It all makes sense now. Be sure to hashtag your pictures #TempleTurmeric so we can see how yours came out and any tasty tweaks you made.
