Glowing Skin with a Turmeric Facemask

turmeric-mask-nonillion

In India, turmeric is sacred. It is the first thing a child is exposed to after birth; a small amount is placed on their third eye. The spice is also part of a brides beautification before the wedding as a part of the wedding ritual. Applying the herb topically cleanses the skin while giving you a radiant glow.

Turmeric is also known for helping out with tough issues like acne, blackheads, blemishes and dark spots. Many people have also seen remarkable improvements with more serious skin issues like Psoriasis and eczema.

Making your own turmeric body/face mask is extremely easy and will help quench that scaly and unattractive winter skin you may be sporting currently. It also improves skin elasticity to keep you wrinkle free for longer. Warning, turmeric may leave your skin with a bit of an orange tint so please do not try this the before a special event or a wedding (unless you’re into that sort of look).

This recipes comes from MommyPotamus

You will need:

  • ½ cup garbanzo (chickpea) flour
  • 1 ½ Tbsp ground turmeric (Note from Mommypotamus: Regular turmeric is fine for most people, but some people have reported that it stains. A patch test is recommended. Alternately, you can use kasturi turmeric, which does not stain)
  • 5 drops of your favorite beneficial oil. Think avocado, almond or grape seed oil that are all good for the skin.
  • Grab all your ingredients and head over to the site for instructions on how to get glowing!
