Almond and Hemp Milk Turmeric Smoothie

This morning I got a text from my good friend and smoothie maven Helene raving about a new turmeric smoothie invention she came up with this morning. This recipe is awesome because not only does it give you a good dose of greens in the morning but using almond and hemp milk as a base adds some protein, amino acids, healthy fats and are a good alternative to dairy milk that can be packed with hormones and soy that is mostly GMO and causes hormonal disruptions.

If you can,try to make your own almond milk and hemp milk to ensure there are no carcinogen’s or stabilizers in there. We like these recipes from Wellness Mama for almond milk and The Chalkboard Mag for hemp milk and all things beautiful.

Almond and Hemp Milk Turmeric Smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup raw organic almond milk
2 cups Swiss chard
1/4 frozen cherries
1/2 frozen banana
1 tbsp raw hemp hearts
1/2 inch raw organic turmeric root

Blend and enjoy!
